Sale of Kiwibank

Because that is just what it is. The National Government can't keep its hands off a profitable enterprise. Say NO to the sale of Kiwibank. It belongs to the Crown and that's us. Keep it in our hands. And I thought that ACC never had enough money to pay out to people who injured themselves. Well, what a surprise - or maybe to some at least.

First post for this new blog. After much persistence finally managed to set up this new blog site. This post will be about recipes but the blog will include political comments and any other comments which I think are relevant in today's society. The entries will be irregular - hence the title.

A couple of years ago I was given the recipe book, "The Australian Convict Recipe Book" so I am now working my way through some of the recipes . I chose Toad in a Hole - mainly because it was familiar and easy, and Tomato Hash which was unusual because it used bread and butter along with cold meat, and tomatoes of course. Perhaps it was a way of using up cold meat and stale bread in the old days. The dishes were surprising simple and nice. The family ate them anyway.
